over.

Today was our last day in Iowa. We lost our game yesterday and were, understandably, completely heartbroken.
Our seniors this year have been more than I could ever ask for. They led us in physical, spiritual, and emotional aspects of our life. I will miss them tremendously.
Today we went to a middle school and played basketball with some kids and tried to witness to them. It was fun and kind of made me want to be a gym teacher.
We also ate at our sponsor's restaurant, Rebo's. One word: FANTASTIC. It was a spicy mix of deliciousness and Heaven.
Coaches made us sit and watch a few games today before we went to eat, again. This time it was Famous Dave's and Coldstone Creamery. Nothing quite compares to rib tips and cake batter ice cream within an hour of each other.
The rest of the night has been great. all of us are just hanging out and watching the ridiculous syracuse and uconn game. We all painted our nails and pigged out on more food :)
We'll be back in Upland around midnight tomorrow but i'm heading to Atown as soon as possible.
Alissa leaves for Paris soon and Jessie for Florida.
Alissa and I leave for Florida on Friday. it will be amazing...we definately need this break.

Pizza Ranch

We finally arrived  in Sioux City after a two hour practice and a five hour sweaty bus ride :) Our hotel is fantastic. I'm rooming with Kaycee and Morgan. We ate at the Pizza Ranch for dinner, which is where Mo's dad is the VP..it was delish.
Tomorrow we have practice and are helping out with the special olympics and have the team banquet.

first stop...

We have just arrived in Iowa City, Iowa on our trek to Sioux City for the NAIA national tournament. The bus ride here was fantastic; full of sleeping, funny movies, and weirdo games :) We stopped at TGI Friday's for dinner even though we were all full of candy that the parents got us, it was still delicious. Tonight we plan on doing some swimming and whirlpooling(?) and just enjoying the time that we are having together.

KC

Kaycee just called me and let me know that the neurosurgeon said he can fix her back really easily and with a short recovery time. This is such an answer to prayer. All year I have seen her struggle with pain and to finally have it all go away will be amazing for her. Just keep praying for her surgery and all the pain that she still has to endure until then.

Sioux City

As of Monday at around nine o'clock, TUBB's high hopes of going to nationals were desecrated...but at two o'clock today they came shining through again. We found out that we received the tenth at large bid for the National Tournament in Sioux City :) I still don't think that I am completely grasping the whole concept of nationals and everything that it entails. I've been to nationals at a younger age, but to go in college, with the team that I absolutely adore and am sooo blessed to be on, will be such an amazing experience. I cannot put into words what I am feeling right now. In my world lit class we are learning about Dante's The Purgatorio. We just read the part where he saw Beatrice's divine face and she made him completely speechless because he never could have fathomed such beauty. This is kind of extreme but I can completely relate. I never thought that I could be so excited to work my butt off for one more week of my life. To push my body until it wants to break down and die. All of it is for the glory of God and no one else. This feeling is brand new and, in my opinion, more than welcome.

first things first

So...this is my first experience with a real blog site...this should be interesting :)
